Service Organizations & Facilities for Students

 

Health Services

McKinley Health Center, 1109 South Lincoln Avenue, Urbana. Call 333-2700 to make an appointment, cancel an appointment, or talk to DIAL A NURSE.

 

Counseling Services (link)

206 Fred H. Turner Student Services Building, 333-3704, provides psychological testing and counseling for vocational, education and personal problems. Other services include special counseling to improve reading and study skills, and counseling for personal adjustment, marriage and drug problems.

 

Office of the Dean of Students (link)

300 Student Services Building, 333-0050, advises on individual problems, including career exploration, budgeting, financial aid, judicial affairs, and campus life. They have special consultants for Selective Service, veteran's affairs, women's education, married student problems, minority student affairs, and the Emergency Dean ( 333-0050) who should be contacted whenever there is an interruption of a student's normal classroom activity.

 

Office of International Student Affairs (link)

400 Student Services Building, 610 E. John St., 333-1303, counsels international students on all phases of immigration and campus life and provides a wide range of administrative services.

  • Financial Aid - 420 Student Services, 333-0100, fourth floor Student Services. Handles student loans, employment, and scholarships.
  • Housing - 100 Clark Hall, 1203 S. Fourth, 333-7111, provides residence hall counseling, programming and advising and helps with non-University housing.
  • Student Organizations and Activities - 280 Illini Union, 333-1153. Helps student organizations with registration, scheduling activities, handling funds, and other procedures.
  • Religious Organizations - Many of the various religious foundations and organizations in the campus area have counselors who are especially interested in student problems, and provide programs designed to provide spiritual support.
