International Arts Minor

This minor offers students a rich new means for approaching international and intercultural studies though the fine and applied arts.
The study of art, dance, music, theatre, the built environment, and cultural practice through the fine and applied arts, is inherently international and intercultural. The study of artistic practices and environmental design is a central resource for understanding the social identity of communities around the world, their core cultural and The Illinois College of Fine and Applied Arts is particularly rich in the number and range of courses with international and cultural content, as well as in the international research and scholarship of many of its faculty members. College Cultural Facilities: In addition to its teaching departments, the College of Fine and Applied Arts also enjoys three exceptional cultural facilities whose programs will support the new international curricula. The Krannert Art Museum offers numerous opportunities for the study of the visual arts from many cultures and periods, both in its permanent collection and its visiting exhibitions. The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts offers professional productions in music, opera, drama and dance from cultures around the world. Japan House and its gardens provide an important academic, cultural, and natural setting for promoting an understanding of Japanese culture and of Asia as a whole.
