In the most widely accepted rankings of schools of architecture, the graduate program in Architecture at Illinois was ranked first in the Midwest and tenth nationally. These rankings, published in the Almanac of Architecture and Design by DesignIntelligence (www.di.net), are based on surveys from individuals in architecture firms across the country who have direct experience with the hiring and performance of graduates.

DesignIntelligence also asked for assessments of landscape architecture programs. The Landscape Architecture program at Illinois was considered 10th among the schools nationally showing strong preparation in analysis and planning and 8th in research and theory. The graduate program in Landscape Architecture was ranked 4th in the Midwest.
