Office Schedules
|
The campus expectation is that offices do not close when the University is not closed (KAM and KCPA have pre-determined, approved schedules). In unique circumstances, however, normal operations of an office might be temporarily discontinued. Because of the Chancellor's and Provost's desire to see that students and parents are provided the best service possible and to do the most possible to avoid any dissatisfaction from potential callers or visitors, provisions must be made to respond to inquiries that might be received from students, parents or other constituents. In the event that an office's regularly scheduled hours are not in effect, these provisions should include: messages on voice mail that indicate a number to be called in emergencies and ensuring that someone is available to answer those calls; provisions for the delivery of mail, particularly on paydays; signage informing anyone visiting the office of alternatives; review of e-mail messages that might be sent to the main office; consultation with the College office (or next higher administrative office) about any disruption of the regular schedule; and, as always, the Dean's approval should be obtained when a unit executive officer will be away from the office on University business or vacation leave.
