Grants of up to $500 for Faculty and Academic
Professionals in the College of Fine and Applied Arts.

For projects to be conducted

1 April 2009 to 31 August 2009

 

GUIDELINES

Special Grant Funds may be used for the following:

1. To assist with projects that would enhance teaching.

2. To support research and creative activity through the
purchase of software or other supplies, hiring student research support,
preparing exhibitions, concerts, or publications, etc. Equip­ment purchased
with these funds are considered University property and when acquired for an
individual’s use remains University-owned property after the individual’s
position is terminated (OBFS policy section 12.1).

3. To encourage professional development by supporting at­tendance
at conferences, performances, exhibitions, etc. (with priority given to
applicants who are presenting in some capac­ity).

CRITERIA

Grant funds will be awarded based on the unit’s priority,
complete­ness and clarity of the application, eligibility of the project, and
availability of funds. Although all tenured and tenure-track faculty and
academic professionals are eligible to apply, priority will be given to
eligible proposals which assist junior faculty in the devel­opment of the case
for tenure.

PROCEDURES

Submit two copies of the proposal, using the
request form, to your unit executive officer – one stays with the unit
executive officer and one copy prioritized by the unit executive officer will
be sent to the College office by the deadlines indicated
.
