New Minors in the Arts at Illinois!
The FAA International Arts Minor complements all majors at the University of Illinois. The FAA International Arts Minor may be taken by students in any UIUC college outside of FAA, and students in FAA (who must chose courses other than those required in the unit of the student’s FAA Major). Students must declare their intentions to pursue the minor with the international minor advisor.

Architectural Studies Minor
This minor is designed for non-architecture undergraduate students who wish to gain an overview of architecture by taking a series of required courses in different disciplines within architecture.

Art History Minor
This minor is designed forstudents who seek to study art history in depth as a complement to their major area of study. It provides an education in art history that is balanced and diverse culturally, temporally and geographically. Students choose from introductory courses that cover a variety of regions, cultures and periods.

Community-Based Art Education Minor
This minor is designed for students who seek to study the role of the visual arts in a variety of locations including cultural centers, museums, hospitals, nursing homes, adult day care centers, schools, recreation centers, and other community settings. In addition to the completion of the required art education foundation courses, students choose electives in art education, art history, design, and art studio. Throughout their course of study, students will engage in Art Education as it meets the challenges of the 21st century, including emerging technologies, new social formations, and new forms of cultural expression.
This minor does not lead to Illinois State Board of Education K-12 certification to teach art.
