Alumni Award Winners

Annually, the University of Illinois Alumni Association confers prestigious awards upon Illinois alumni. The College of Fine and Applied Arts is privileged to recognize its own alumni as recipients of these awards:

University of Illinois Alumni Achievement Award

Established in 1957, this award is the highest honor bestowed upon alumni of the University of Illinois by the University of Illinois Alumni Association on behalf of the University. The award has been presented to many alumni of the College of Fine and Applied Arts who have attained outstanding success and national or international distinction in their chosen business, profession or life’s work, and whose accomplishments reflect admirably on or bring honor to their Alma Mater.

University of Illinois Distinguished Service Award

Established in 1972, this honor is bestowed upon alumni, faculty, staff or friends of the University of Illinois by the University of Illinois Alumni Association on behalf of the University. The honor has been given to College of Fine and Applied Arts Alumni and Friends who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary commitment, dedication and service to the advancement of the University of Illinois.

FAA Constituent Leadership Award

Lou Liay Spirit Award for Extraordinary Alumni Service

Established in 1997, this award is named after Lou Liay, Executive Director of the University of Illinois Alumni Association from 1983 to 1998. It is bestowed upon alumni of the University of Illinois who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary loyalty, commitment, dedication and service to the University of Illinois Alumni Association and/or its constituent and affiliated groups for the betterment of the University of Illinois, and whose name and achievements have become synonymous with their alma mater. The award is presented annually during Homecoming weekend.
